2017 FVVC Boys Coaching Lineup | Pt. 3

Brynden MacTavish

Brynden has been a key member of the local volleyball community for the past several years. After wrapping up his time playing at UFV, he began coaching with Langley Christian between their Junior and Senior teams. We pulled Brynden in last year to coach the 15U team and heard nothing but stellar feedback from the parents and players all year. Brynden is an extremely committed and resourceful coach that strives to create a positive environment for his athletes. We are excited to see what his 15U team accomplishes this season.

Assistant Coaches: Sean Engbers and TBA

Jordan Mulder

I have personally had the opportunity to work with Jordan over the past several years as a long-time assistant coach of mine. Athletes work well with Jordan and other coaches have gained a lot from his insights and tireless work ethic. He has spent a lot of time learning the game both from analytical and technical perspectives, both of which give him a solid base to instruct from. We are confident that our 14U team will have a memorable season with Jordan leading the way.

Assistant Coach: Carol Hofer

2017 FVVC Boys Coaching Lineup | Pt. 2

We are returning both our 17U and 18U head coaches this year to continue working with our oldest athletes in the club. Both age groups had successful seasons this past year, and we expect each could be even stronger in their 2017 seasons.

Jordan Geransky

I coached my first team when I was 16 years old and it has been a big part of my life ever since. Over the years, I've coached 14U, 15U, 16U and 18U teams with FVVC and was the head coach of the MEI senior boys team. During that time my teams won 4 Provincial championships while I was a head coach, and 4 more as an assistant coach. My greatest driving force is creating environments that allow for boys to learn how to operate in community; how to find their fit, how to contribute, how to communicate with others, etc. I look forward to working with another stellar group of athletes with our 18U team this year.

Assistant Coaches: Mike Grypma and Bryson Wiens

Ryan Flannigan

We were fortunate to snag Ryan in advance of last season while him and his wife were transitioning to the Lower Mainland from Edmonton. Ryan works as a teacher and it shows in his ability to communicate with his athletes. His past experience in Edmonton as the coach of the Harry Ainlay and with NAVC and the Nooks had him as part of several Provincial and National medaling teams. We are excited to have Ryan once again taking up the helm with our 17U boys this year.

Assistant Coaches: Tim Flannigan and TBA

2012 CIS National Champions (Rudy, Marc, Ben and Jarrod)

FVVC is excited to announce the involvement of four key members of TWU's 2011 and 2012 CIS National Championship team. These four have been among the best in their class in the country as players and continue to play or coach at a high level.

Rudy Verhoeff

Rudy was a member of Team Canada at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and is currently playing overseas in Germany. This year he is re-joining our club as a Program Development Coordinator. He will be working with us to continue to build our athlete development plan and assist coaches in taking their athletes to the next level. We are extremely excited to have Rudy involved again this year.

Marc was a member of Team Canada for 7 years (Youth, Junior, FISU and FTC) and currently runs Howatson Volleyball with his brother Josh. Marc is joining our team this year to run the Summit Sessions in January and February. This clinic will be an opportunity for athletes to work with Marc on taking their game to the next level in a variety of different skills. More information to be announced on our Summit Sessions page soon.
