FVVC Development Programs give young athletes the opportunity to learn the game of volleyball, build individual skills and play in a fun, supportive environment. Sessions combine focused skill development with drills, competitions and modified game play designed for each age group.

Build Volleyball Skills

Athletes are challenged each week to develop their individual volleyball skills through age-appropriate training, drills and game situations.

More Touches. More Learning.

Modified game play and small-sided activities help athletes get more touches on the ball while learning how to apply their skills in game situations.

Athletes develop their skills while working cooperatively with teammates in an environment designed to encourage learning, confidence and enjoyment of the game.

Ages 8–11

Skills & Drills

Learn the game, build fundamentals and get more touches.

Skills & Drills is a co-ed development program for boys and girls ages 8–11. It is designed to introduce young athletes to volleyball in a fun environment while helping them build strong individual skills.

Sessions combine skill instruction and drills with modified game play. The smaller and modified game formats are designed to give each athlete a high number of volleyball touches and more opportunities to use the skills they are learning.

Who It's For Boys and girls ages 8–11.
Training Focus Individual volleyball skills, fundamentals and confidence.
How Athletes Play Age-appropriate drills, competitions and modified game play.

Each week, athletes are challenged to develop their individual skills while also learning to work cooperatively with teammates. Activities and competitions are tailored to the age group so athletes can learn, play and enjoy the game.

No tryouts required. Space is limited for each session, so early registration is encouraged.
Ages 11–14

Train & Play

Develop skills through training and small-sided game play.

Train & Play is designed for athletes ages 11–14 who want to continue developing their volleyball skills while gaining more experience applying those skills in game situations.

Training uses modified game settings including 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4. These smaller-sided formats create more opportunities for athletes to contact the ball, make decisions and stay involved throughout play.

How Athletes Play Training, drills, competitions and 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 game play.

Athletes are challenged each week to improve their individual skills while working cooperatively with teammates. Sessions use age-appropriate drills and competitions to create an active learning environment with plenty of opportunities to play.

No tryouts required. Current boys, girls or co-ed session options will be shown with the active registration offerings.
14U–18U

Girls HP Prep

High-performance preparation for experienced club athletes.

Girls HP Prep is designed for experienced club volleyball athletes preparing for the 2027 club season. The program helps athletes build confidence, sharpen their skills and strengthen their game knowledge before club tryouts begin.

Sessions are led by experienced FVVC coaches in a positive, competitive and supportive training environment. Athletes receive high-repetition training, position-specific instruction and personalized feedback to help them continue developing their game.

Who It's For Experienced 14U–18U girls preparing for the 2027 club volleyball season.
Training Focus Position-specific skills, decision-making, game knowledge and tryout preparation.
Training Format High-repetition training with individual coaching, instruction and feedback.

Athletes will have the opportunity to meet FVVC coaches, experience the FVVC training environment and get a firsthand look at the club's culture. Athletes from all clubs are welcome to participate.

Previous club experience recommended. This program is not recommended for athletes with no club volleyball experience. Groups are 14–15U and 16U–18U, with a maximum of 32 athletes per group. Athletes will be grouped by age, skill and experience, and session placements may be adjusted. Age groups are based on the 2027 club volleyball season.
Fall 2026 Session: 7 × 2-hour sessions from September 13–November 1, with no session October 11. Registration is $350 + GST + credit-card processing fee.
Ages 14–18

Private Training

Individual or small-group training with focused instruction.

Private Training provides athletes with an opportunity to work individually or in a small group with an FVVC coach. Training can provide a more focused environment for athletes who want additional instruction and repetitions outside of regular team or development sessions.

Training Format Individual or small-group volleyball training.
Training Focus Focused skill development based on athlete needs.
Availability Dependent on coach and facility availability.

Private training requests are accommodated as availability allows. Session options may vary depending on the number of athletes, available coaches and facility availability.

FVVC Development Programs are designed to give young athletes an opportunity to get on the court, develop their game and have fun. Space in each program is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
